Environment Management
Environment management at Jodhpur Junction Railway Station involves a structured and ongoing approach
to protecting the environment. The station implements various policies and allocates resources to
ensure sustainable operations and minimize environmental impact.
SOLAR SYSTEMS
-
Jodhpur Station uses solar panels installed on platforms and the main building to generate
electricity from sunlight. The solar system can produce up to 770 KWp, meeting nearly 80%
of the station’s energy needs.
WASTE TO ENERGY
-
The station operates a waste-to-energy plant with a capacity of 500 kg per day. This
facility converts organic waste into electricity and cooking gas. The generated gas is
supplied to the TTE running room kitchen, and electricity is used for lighting nearby
areas.
SEWAGE AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT
-
The station has a 300 KLD sewage and wastewater treatment plant that processes water from
cleaning and washing activities. Treated water is reused for cleaning and gardening, using
advanced MBR-based German technology.
ENERGY AUDIT
-
Regular energy audits are conducted at Jodhpur Station to monitor and improve energy
efficiency, helping to reduce energy consumption without affecting operations.
WATER AUDIT
-
Water audits are performed to track water usage and quality, aiming to reduce wastage and
promote efficient use of water resources at the station.
ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION
-
Jodhpur Railway Station is certified under ISO 14001, an international standard for
environmental management systems, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable practices.
PET BOTTLE RECYCLING MACHINE
-
A PET bottle recycling machine is available at the main entrance on Platform 1. Passengers
can recycle empty bottles and receive a promo code for Paytm as a reward.
